hello. For medical reasons i have had to move my three small female guppies and one male into a 13 litre tank (3 UK gallons, 3.6 US gallons) I have a nano heater and a 200l/h filter. Unfortunately the filter is annoyingly load, could this be annoying the guppies and discouraging breeding?

The male seamed very interested in all the females in my larger tank, but now takes no interest

Also, is this size of tank suitable for these guppies?

Also, can anyone suggest a QUIET filter, around a 200l/h

I think 4 in a 3 Gallon tank is too much imho. I would say 2 females in there or 1 male 1 female. I have a 3 gallon fry tank and when the sponge filter and heater etc is in there i would only add 2 fish at most :)

How many fry do you keep in your 3 gallon? and I will be transporting them to my 6 gall when its cycled. How many do you think i could fit in my 6 gall?

Well the rule iv been given is 1 Gallon = 1" of fish. BUT i tend to go below this because i like them to have room :p

so theoretically I could have around 5 fry per gallon, so around 15-20 fry?

When i have built my unit, i will buy another 10 gall for the gup gup guppies, alternatively, i will give them to a pet shop (i know the owner) if it gets overcrowded, e.g over 15 fry
