Not to sure mate, but i have always done 20% water changes with the occasional 30% change. Try doing a large change around 40% then weekly 20% changes to see if you can get back on top of the problem. :good:

Hi Carl

What is the test reading for your nitrates?

Do you water change with tap water or RO water?
How long has the tank been running and has No3 always been a problem?
Do you have a reef (corals) as well as fish?
Are you running external filtration, live rock or both (or none)?
How often do you feed and how much (lightly, heavily...)?
Are you suffering from algae blooms or just concerned for the tank inhabitants welfare?

And more importantly, have you had your LFS or another local reefkeeper verify your testing results using a different test kit? Nitrate test kits are notoriously inaccurate, keep that in mind :)
