Scenario:
55gal freshwater 78F
0 Nitrites, 0 Ammonia, 0 Clhorine, 40 Nitrates, Hardness in the middle, buffering cap kinda low.
2 Dennison Barbs
3 Bala Sharks
Several Teteras
2 Corys
2 Loachs
1 Platy
Several plants, driftwood, very little alge
The barbs and sharks and a few tetras are a new addition. the rest have been there for over a year
There have been at least one death a day, mostly from neons but today I had a dennison barb die.
I checked for excess voltage, none
15% water changed weekly, mixed and declorinated in a bucket
new filter sponge, established ceramic filter, 2 month old carbon
Water slightly white cloudy, even after the last 2 water changes (bacteria bloom maybe, but harmless i think)
Fish seem stressed and jittery
1 bala shark has a small white spot in center on top of head, NOT ICH.
Before a fish dies he becomes jittery and swims in circles and loops
Brought water to LFS and said everything was in check, they thought it was voltage
As I said, checked the voltage and there was none.
Brought dead fish to LFS, couldn't find symptoms, no hemoraghing, no swelling, no ich, no nipped fins, nothing.
ANY IDEAS?!?!?
At this point i feel like i've done everyhting right and i'm about to try a shotgun approach treatment for fungus and bacteria....
