Hi, I was told to feed my plecos algae wafers at night. I've been doing that before I go to bed. The problem is that the other fish seem to eat the wafers while the plecos who have been sucking at the glass and everything in the tank all day, are pooped and fall asleep once I put the lights down low, and the wafers in the tank. I haven't been able to work out what type of pleco they are, and the photo I took is too blury. They are only small, about 4cm. Maybe I should feed my plecos when I feed the other fish while the lights are on, or I'm wondering if I need to feed them wafers at all (seeing as they seem to get by without eating any).

chop up some cucumber and boil it for 5 minutes, leave it to cool for a bit then chuck that in for the plecs. They will LOVE it.

That's sounds funny James, but I'll give it a go. One of mine managed to attach himself to the block of frozen meat tonight. You could practically see the smile on his face.

Don't worry they love it!! Just be sure to remove it after a few days, it makes the water cloudy if you don't

Brilliant, I'll pick up some cucumber when I do the shopping. Funny avatar :).

I have started feeding my plecos while the lights are on when I feed the fish. They go straight to the food and eat it.

Could anyone tell me what type of plecos I have? Their markings have become more defined now. They are dark brown with little white spots on their body, and dark and light brown stripes on their fins.
