Hello,
Soon I will be starting a guppy tank, its about 40-45 USG (with sand and deco into consideration - about 50 gallons with nothing in) . The problem I have is that I have no luck with growing plants, and I would like the tank to be planted as heavily as possible to help ensure as many fry make it as possible (I havn't got room for another tank for raising fry). I don't mind what sort of plants they are or how they look, just that they provide shelter for fry (I am going to order some elodea densa as they are the only plant I have kept relatively healthy). Now the intro's over I just have a few questions.
Is there any artificial product (or something DIY) that I can use to increase cover for the fry?
My other question is if I could try and breed BN plecs in the same tank. I don't think this will be detremental to the guppies, but I just better ask to see other peoples opinions on this.
The reason why I wan't to help guppy production, is that my LFS is more than willing to take them off my hands, they will even pay for them, I know I won't make alot of money, probably not even worth it (I think they pay about 40p a guppy). However nothing ventured nothing gained (plus I get to have a tank full of colourful fish).
Thanks everyone.
