No Algae

my fish tank dont have any algae and my algae eater is losing weight, how can i produce algae??? Ive had this tank for sometime now, my pleco algae eater keeps it too clean

Best way for more algae is to leave lights on longer just make sure they still get at least like ten hours of dark though. But, if this is a new tank you wont be getting any for a month or two and youll have to get some algae wafers

Most people want to stop algae growth haha. just buy wafers to feed the algae eaters.

In such a case it's often best to use sinking algae wafers or sheets of algae such as nori to feed the fish. It's better than forcing algae to grow in my opinion.
