soo... i tested my water after i changed, it and it had a bit of nitrite... was it beacuse the water got heated for a long time? i forgot to check it...and it was left outside.
i added some bacteria starter, as i forgot to do that

Did you test before the water change also ? what made you test after a change ? I only test after a change if my no2 or NO3 were shocking prior to the change to to see if I hve diluted them enough

Why are you adding 'bacteria starter'?

Why are you adding 'bacteria starter'?
it is api quick start, it helps a lot. i also want to add that i cleaned a lot of algae off the tank when i changed the water. it helps get rid of nitrite into nitrate. but i have no nitrate, like 0 this time.... i might have mixed nitrite with trAte

What are your usual water parameters? Ammonia/nitrite/nitrate?

Are you saying that there are no nitrites in your source water, but that it does have nitrATES? Yet your tank nitrAtes are zero?
Does the source water contain ammonia? Any ammonia in the tank?

How long has the tank been cycled, and why are you adding bottled bacteria if it's cycled?

tank cycled for like 5 months, it was actually trAtes, Sorry for causing trouble to y'all. i read the labels wrong. the nitrate had 0.5 but the nitrite was just normal 0

I'm so confused. So there weren't any nitrites in the tank after all?
