I just did a nitrite test - thanks for the reccomendation Cheese Specialist ;)

My results showed I had a level of 0.25 ppm

My tank is cycled, and has been up and runing for about 4 months now.

I am currently medicating for ich and my last dosage will be tomrrow, should I wait to do a water change on Monday or u think I should do 1 now and just continue with the treatment for another day or so??

It would be prudent to keep the medicines in. The nitrites cna be at that level for one day and it should do no harm. however, if the ich starts up again...

-_- no expert at all yet, but couldnt you do a little change and medicate the new water being added, that way all the medicine is still in your tank, plus fresh water to try bring down the nitrite levels?

Hi Talisman, thanks for the reply, good advice, I didn't think of that one!

Anyway I gave the tank it's last dosage on Sunday, did a 50% water change yesterday and put carbon in my filter. The thing is I noticed that a couple of fish are still flicking so It looks like the treatment did not work. :sly: I will probably start again with a different med next week. For this week I will just keep the temp at about 86, do 25% water changes every other day and see how it goes!

:D Yea I did! I'm not sure melafix can do anything for the ich but I've used the test kit quite a bit!
