Okay, Im OCCASIONALLY getting a nitrite color that isn't on the chart...I think its because there is a trace amount but not quite the next level.
Instead of Robin Egg blue, I get a definitive BLUE. Has anyone seen that before?
The ammonia level hasnt dropped enough to be a noticable color change, so Im questioning the nitrite reading.
Im also wondering if the ammonia level might not have dropped because I used mature filter media...what are the chances it had enough rotting gunk to produce ammonia so my level isn't dropping

If there is only a slight trace of nitrite there there will only have been a tiny amount of ammonia processed so probably not enough to affect your readings that muche. Fingers crossed you have more nitrite and less ammonia tomorrow
