My tank is 4 weeks old now and suddenly I have had a spike of Nitrite.

Shows are reading of.25 after being on 0 for past fortnight.......

This result was after doing a 20% water change and tested 4 hours later. I know Nitrite is deadly to
fish but should I worry or test again in a few days??

All other readings are as follows:

Ammonia .25
Nitrite .25
Nitrate 0
Ph 7
Hardness 120ppm

cheers

Is this the tank in your sig? How long has it been since you added the fish?

Continue with the water changes and reduce the feedings each day and feed maybe every other day.

Thanks Ed,

I added the 2nd Clown and Bristlenose this morning. Both are tiny.......the new Clown is probably not more then 3cm and the Bristlenose is prob 1.5cm...

I did a 25% water change about an hour ago and will check it in about 4 hours time.
This time I did not do a gravel vac as I did this only this morning.

Is this the right thing to do?

PS Yes my sig has the tank details.
