Well, theyve always been nagging at me, i do some changes nitrates at 10, a few weeks later nitrates at 40 maybe.
You see my test kit is basically color coding, like many others, the fact is, the numbers from 30 and up to 80 are almost identical shades of red, so my best guess was a 40, which means it could be higher.
Ive done just about everything to get my nitrates in control, but that seems to be the only factor in my water, it just rises, and falls, rises and falls.
So i was wondering if i could put in a plant, some kind of cage around it or something so my snail cant get to it, since i heard that plants use nitrates i decided to bring it up here.
Ive also got alot of airstones, not sure what there called but basically where the bubbles come out of from the air pump.
So yeah id appreciate any info on plants in tanks, thanks.
