Has anyone tried using a nitrate reducer in there tank? I was just wondering because I have had some nitrate problems and was curious to see if it actually worked? Any other suggestions? I have decreased the amount of food already but not a whole lot of change. Also, water changes have lowered it a lil' bit but not enough for my standards!

Thanks,
Kyle

If by nitrate reducer you mean a nitrate bonding media or sponge (kind of like activated carbon), then yes it will work. I have not used it myself but spoken with many sumpless nano owners who do use it in my local club. Still doesnt correct the source of the problem, but it can help out :)

Go get yourself some denitrate, it's wonderful stuff.

Well as others have said you can buy filter media that will reduce your nitrate levels rather than buying a nitrate reductor. But I have heard that a nitrate reducer is really if you have nitrate problems frequently. I will post some websites to show you a couple.

after you get the nitrate levels down are you going to find and fix the problem becuase covering up the problem isn't the best solution. dave
