I have a new 50 gal tank and been cycling for 6 weeks now I still have maxed out nitrate and nitrite levels
right now I have 3 fish in tank 2 mollies and a pleco catfish, Ive added bacteria and do 15% water changes every other day
is there anything else I need to do to help the cycle process along

Maybe Prime would help. It will help lower the levels of nitrate, nitrite and ammonia. You can get it on www.petsmart.com

Good Luck

u shouldent do to many water changes when u cycle a tank 15% every other day is way to much u gotta give the bacteria time to catch up it seems like it is cycleing if ur ammonia is low and nitrites are hight just give it some time maybe 15% water changes once a week or so

When levels are that high and toxic for the fish, doing 15% water changes daily even are exceptable...

I would continue with the water changes- I'd do 25-40% every other day, keep those pollutants down.
The bacteria doesn't live in the water, changing water doesn't effect them. Use a dechlorinator.

Don't feed the fish for a couple of days to minimize the amount of ammonia going in. When you feed them feed only very small amounts until the tank has cycled.

Good luck
