hey

basically i have high nitrate levels in my tank. a friend said that there are some plants that absorb nitrate that aasy 2 grow.

I have a 24inch tank 15 gallon i think, with a 15W bulb that is on 6 hours a day. The plants would have to be easy to grow because plants in the past havent done well.

Any suggestions?

thanks

All plants, including algae use nitrates in their biological processes. The problem you face is your light levels. To make a serious dent in your nitrates, you'll need fast growing plants, and fast growing plants tend to need a lot of light, more then you have.

Water changes are the quickest way to get your nitrates down, but it may be worth checking your tap waters nitrate levels. In some places it can get quite high.
