From what I remember these guys are great but they can lay eggs everywhere that are a nightmare to remove. But don't take my word for it.

£5.50 sounds expensive even with P&P, but anyway, they can be male or female so if you have 1 on it's own i don't believe you'll end up with lots of little snails. and i think they need brackish water to breed anyway.

I have had some for a few weeks... they are gorgeous snails, good algae eaters, and don't breed unless you have them in brackish. About the eggs, I personally have had no problems with them, but you should know that these snails are NOT hermaphoditic and therefore in order to guarantee eggs you would probably have to have at least 4 snails.

good i dont want eggs, how do i try stop him or her having a wonder round my house lol, I want to keep it in the tank, I have a lid on ect... but it could get out at the holes at the back where the wires go out.

My lid doesn't fit very tight either, no problems yet. Sometimes they rest in a corner about an inch above the water tho. I have also observed pond snails try to make a break for it, but it seems like their shells are too heavy when out of water. The shell hangs off their back, stretching the skin as they crawl up. They shrug it up a few times but it slows them down considerably and it doesn't take them long to pull a U-ie and return to the water

Maybe this is the same for nerites? In any case I have never seen them more than an inch above the water line.
