Nipping Fish

I went to take out a neon cave I put in my tropical aquarium, it made the tank look wierd, and the danios started to nip at me and then the guppies started to do it. It tickled If you put your hand in your aquarium will your fish nip at your hand?

This is currently Jewel (my purple betta) favorite game. Whenever I am doing a water change or for whatever other reason I have my hand is in his tank, he swims right up to me and tries to nip my hand. I can litterally make him swim a specific path if I want to. The first time he did this was when I was filling his tank with a python, i was so shocked I jerked my hand out of the water, sending water flying onto the floor.

our black mollies & swordtails always try to nip or its more like 'lip' my hands in the tank & will follow my hand everywhere too.......i dont think its love though just ever hopeful of another feed

Yeah - happens to us too - usually the danios, it seems to be limited to fast movnig fish who can get the hell outta the way!

I still haven't got used to it!!

My danios eat me alive everytime I put my arm in the tank.... shtupid fish...
