Nipped Betta Fin

Hello,
When my betta was in my community tank his fin got nipped very quickly and is now in his own 2g tank anyway about an inch of his fin its a vt and fin was 1 1/2in long and is now 1/2in, would the fin grow back on its own or should i treat it for fin rot or any treament?

His fins should grow back. But you could get some fin rot, personally I would add a very small dose of melafix, and keep the water very clean.

Thanks i think im going to get some melafix and use that and i do water changes every 2 days on my betta tanks.

make sure that you only use half the dose.
