I think my blue VT Nightlight has been biting his tail...

His beautiful fins that were perfect in length and ending are all tattered and looks like he has bitten chunks out of them. He has mde himself look more like a CT now. He had perfect fins the other day when he flared at his mirror and now they are all tattered.

What could cause him to do this? Is it some form of infection? They dont look white and fuzzy. he only shares his tank with two small panda corys and two small plecs.

Stats:

28ltrs
ph: 7 neutral
no ammonia, nitrite or nitrate.
heated at 26degree celcius.

The cat has been stalking the tank a bit lately but Nightlight never gives a stuff about the cat.

What filter have you got? As an alternative to the biting theory, someone suggested to me (I have the same problem) that my Captain Jack could be catching his in my internal filter intake  I've now got a sponge filter instead driven by an airpump, I'm keeping an eye on the situation but seeing regrowth already!

Any Sharp ornaments he could tear his fins on? its sad when their tails become damaged pluto tail bites whenever the vacuum comes on! it could be anything that triggers it
