Dwarfs, let me assure you, you AREN'T very close to Niagara Falls. I made the very trip from Long island to Niagara falls, and it took about 9 to 10 hours.

Unless you take Amtraks express service from NYP to Niagara falls direct. The train saves you about 4 hours.
