NFL 2025

What do expect in snow? Turnovers & missed kicks. I was happy it was a closer game than I'd thought it'd be. I thought the Broncos QB did ok for what he was thrown into...but what might it have been with Nix?

Rams behind but a close game too. Works for me since I don't care much

Stidham rolled left what, once? I wanted to slap that stupid grin off his face. The Pats may have their next Brady. (without, hopefully, certain "attributes") Time will tell. They've got their hands full with the Seahawks.

Seahawks 31, Rams 27 . Both teams have great defense and also great offense based on their total points for and total points against for the season. High scoring game for both teams that have great defense. There was one play where Stafford should have run with the ball when they were in the red zone and he had a clear opening to run. But he rarely runs with the ball....he only rushed for one yard all season...that's ridiculous. Part of the reason they lost the game.

Pats have a very good defense but their offensive line better protect Maye better than in the past. He gets sacked way to many times.

I'll only comment on the Pats Broncos game. With Bo Nix able to play I figure that the Broncs likely would have won.

Then there were the kickers... three missed kicks that greatly influenced the game. If all the kicks are all made the game is in overtime. Don't get me wrong as I didn't have any real preference as to who won.

OK, enough of that. ;)

Three gripes...
1) Home field advantage during the playoffs. Why can't a wildcard team have a home game? There have been many cases where the division winner has a worse record than a wildcard team. Why does not the wildcard team have home field in such a case? Personally I think that ALL playoff games should be on neutral fields.

2) Sigh, the Pro Bowl. Many hate the game becoming just a flag game but I rather like it as we get to see another side of the players where they are just out there having fun with each other. During a real game the players present as to want to destroy the other team's players yet many are best friends off the field. I find it sort of fun seeing them playing as friends and messing with each other.

3) Again the Pro Bowl. It used to be that the Pro Bowl was done after the Super Bowl but it is now before. With the Pro Bowl being before the Super Bowl it means that no voted Pro Bowl player will even consider playing in the game if they are looking at the Super Bowl the following week.

They claimed this was done to increase viewership in the lull between the playoffs and the big game but I hate it too, for the same reasons.
They didn't do it more than a few years but I kind of liked when they had a couple of retired players do picks for each team, like a kids pickup game, for the Pro Bowl. Often ended up with players from the same team playing against each other.

Another fun game was way back when, before the Super Bowl. The NFL champs played college all-stars. The college players even won a few times.

What the heck? I just looked to see the time the Pro Bowl would be on tomorrow 2/1/2026 and it won't be. It will actually be played Tuesday 2/3/2026. Doesn't really matter to me but I don't get it. :dunno:

Personally I think they are going in the direction of making the Pro Bowl part of the Super Bowl pregame. I would not be surprised if in five years the Pro Bowl will be a pregame for the Super Bowl with the Pro Bowl being the early game and the Super Bowl prime time.

Gee whiz, I think you may be right! Until you said, I thought the Pro Bowl was tomorrow. In some ways I can see having the players not in the super bowl play but then we miss some really good players...but no team is going to allow players to risk injury before the "big game" even if it's just flag football, meh.

You nailed it. This is a quote from one of the sports sites I visit: "The 2026 Pro Bowl has now been incorporated into the Super Bowl celebrations. As a result, all events will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3."
I was cranky enough when they switched to flag in 23. I'll still watch it, but it's become a big joke.

The Seahawks and Patriots both have excellent defenses. I predict a fairly low scoring game. But it’s the Superbowl and anything can happen. The Rams/Seahawks game was 31-27, higher than I would have expected. Anyone care to guess what the final score will be?

Here's some interesting stats. In the 3 Patriots playoff games Drake Maye's passer rating was lower than Shedeur Sanders.
In 17 regulat season games Maye threw 11 interceptions, in 3 playoff games he threw 5 picks.
In 17 regular season games Maye fumbled 8 times, in 3 playoff games he fumbled 6 times.
I think this game is going to come down to the trenches. Is New England pass blocking good enough to protect Maye?
If Seattle's pass blocking can keep Darnold on his feet he will slice up the Pats.

OK, I'll give it a shot even though I have no basis for my thoughts.

Hawks-31, Pats-17.

The Hawks defense is better than the Pats even though they are not far apart. Again without real basis I see Mayes giving up 3 sacks and 2 turnovers. I just don't think the Pats' offensive line can protect a 2nd year QB well enough to allow him to perform at his best.

Really I'm just going with defense ranking. As the old saw states; "Offense wins games, defense wins championships.".

Seattle can rush 4 and be effective. That leaves 7 in coverage which is tough to beat with a 2 high shell.

Well i missed those games during hte power outage - forgot all about them - as for the superbowl - i BET the winner will out score the non-winner ! That is my prediction.

As for who - viking were stupid for not signing sam the man but tennessee was even worse firing Mike Vrabel - the only decent 'player' tennessee had.

And here we are sam the man vs Mike Vrabel - winner takes all.

The BIG GAME is just 2 days away. What are your plans for watching game? Are you watching it by yourself or with a group of friends? Are you watching it at home or going to the local pub? What’s on your gameday menu? What snacks are you stocking up on?

I’ll be watching it alone at home. Dining on chicken parmagiana and linguine. Apple pie and ice cream for dessert. A big box of goobers peanut chocolate candy as a treat. Maybe some homemade buttered popcorn and also cheese and crackers.
