Hi all
I'm knew to this forum although I've been keeping tropicals for about 15years.
I have 3 tanks running at the minute. One is a small community tank (fully stocked). the other houses a Jewel cichlid and a large Severum with a 4" plec and some cats. The last tank is hard to describe.
Its a Trigon that started off housing a few gourami and some angels. Then over the last few years I've started collecting a few oddballs and taken in a few fish that people couldn't handle and now it houses:
2 Pearl gourami
1 Blue gourami
2 pink Kissers
A rescued 11" leopard sailfin plec
4 clown loaches
2 small eels
a black ghost knife (about 6") again rescued from a novice who had been sold it by a LFS who asked no questions
2 Rams
2 Small Cichlids (unknown exact type but reasonably pieceful)
15 large cardinal tetras
1 large fire belly newt (rescued so exact type unknown)
Alot of them were put in apprehensively as a last attempt to save them from death and I expected there to be alot of fights and the cardinals to be in the black ghost's belly by now but all is well.......everyone gets on fine. some times the plec charges arround and they all hide out of his way but generally everything is pieceful.
Thinking of starting my first marine tank.....probably a FOWLR with some cleaner shrimps etc but nothing more difficult.
Since I already have one Trigon i was wondering about getting another and using it for the marine so the living room will match. Has anyone done this and if so I'd be greatful for some advice like is the lighting sufficient and should I rip the filter out or use it?
