Hey Everyone,
I am new to the fourm, but not new to fish owner. I live in Ontario Canada. Although many have been at it longer then me. I have had fish for 7 years now. But I must say that something happened today (or I at least discovered it today) that has never happened to me. My fish (platies) had babies. At this moment I have two black skirtied tetras, 6 platys, one molly and a loach.
I am really excited. I have now learned that if you have more then two of the same type of fish, you have a better chance at breeding. I have always thought about it before, but never gotten around to it as I don't have the time or space to put into breeding, but apparently my fish have made the decision for me. So for the next while I will be asking questions on how to deal with this.
It comes as a shock as I have had troubles the past while with fish (not in the past two months though) and had many die over the past 6 months. It also comes as a pleasent surprise.
Glad to find a place where I can get answers and help from people who have been there with their fish and maybe I can pass on knowledge I have learned.
Thanks,
Lea-Andra
