Newbie With A 3g Tank!

Hey all, i have dug an old 3g tank out, and im going to have a couple of african dwarf frogs in it. I would just like to ask if anyone has any reccomendations for some newbie plants. I have only ever used fake plants, but id like to have a go at planting this tank up a little. The lighting will be provided via 2 4" cold cathodes, as the hood dosent take florecent tubes.

Any reccomendations?

Unfortunately, you cant grow plants with cold cathodes.

On the bright side, you cant grow algae either .
