Alright, Ill admit i sorta jumped into planted tanks head on with little to no help, other then what the big chains were telling me.

Anubias Nana Quesitons: I started with a small Anubias Nana. Planted it in regular, and it flourished! That was til it started getting these brown patches (like raised growths) on the sterms and rhizome. The leaves started falling off. I ended up removing it and burning it to get rid of it. So what was it? I have now two other anbuias Nanas that are growing quite well, with the occasional lost leaf, but it usuall produces 2 new leaves when i lose one. When i lose a leaf, should i just snip the leaf or its entire stem?

Amazon Swords: I have three, and all are producing new growth. Again, planted in regular aquarium, which is currently cycling. These are growing fairly well, my only question on this is, does the current in the tank affect them? Theres one spot in my aquarium (under the filter but towards the front of hte aquarium) that when i put a sword there, i start seeing the leaves turn brown/clear. I snip these as soon as i see them. Whats going on here? Is it hte current? I removed plants from this section.

Java Ferns: I just bought some, and some have black spots when i bought them. I clipped these off. But whats hte black spots? The Ferns do have spores on them.

Moss Balls: Neat looking thing, just bought it. Says it can get to a foot.... I want to keep it at its 2 inch diameter. How do you trim it? Pros or cons of a moss ball?

Java Moss: How does it grow?

General Plant Questions: What sort of plant fertilizer do you reccommend? I know that a clay base layer would have been best, or even sand, but i think its too much of a hassle to rip my tanks apart and do this now. Maybe later down the road? The Chain store reccommended API's Leaf zone. This ok or would you suggest something else? I live in the US, so keep that in mind when suggesting things.

Where are you planting the anubias? They should be attached to wood and rocks not buried in the substrate. Same with java ferns. The chain stores I have been to are notorious for burying these plants, despite me telling them on several occasions, so you end up with a damaged plant. If the rhizome is buried, the plant rots. Some other questions. How big is the tank? What is your lighting? You don't have any plants that require lots of light, but it is always nice to know so I can steer in the right direction with minimal effort on your part.

Eh, with eBay, you can even get UK items or worldwide items to the US. I get my TPN+ that way. Cost a little more, but it is worth it.
