Newbie Starting Small

Just wanted to say Hi to all.

Found this forum and think its brilliant have found out so much just reading other peoples questions and answers thought it was time to introduce myself.

I live in hertfordshire, have a small tank (currently upgrading) and 2 dogs one lurcher lolly and my little whippet x freddie who has only got 3 legs.

I have kept goldfish, my one little pleco called ugg and apple snails for years, but now in memory of my dad have branched into tropicals.
I have got a 10G tank with guppies and neons in it and am just cycling a 20G tank so I can upgrade to something larger as I think they will be happier in a bigger tank. I know its not as exciting and exotic as some of the amazing tanks and fish on here but thought id start small and work my way up (as dad would say ) hopefully not make to many if any mistakes on the way!

So just to say hello and thanks for all the good advice and info that people put on here.

Hi! Sounds like a plan. What's your stocking? Are you going to buy any other fish when you upgrade?

Welcome to the forum! I think it's an excellent idea to have a tank(s) in memory of your dad.

A word of caution though, be prepared for the onset of MTS (multiple tank syndrome), you'll soon be sitting on your computer thinking, you know, if I got rid of the couch I could put a 75gal there, or maybe get some racking and get several tanks. It's only a matter of time, no one is immune.

MTS yes think ive got the onset of that, because ive got my 10G plus my 10G goldfish tank, now ive got the 20G to replace the 10G but hmmmm maybe not

stocking is only small

3 x girl guppies,
1 x boy guppie,
5 x neons
and ive just been given 6 endler fry but only one looks like an endler (these are in my little quarantine tank)

Goldfish tank

1 x fancy goldfish
1 x normal goldfish (I think hes to big and should go in MIL's pond but hes daughters fairground fish.
1 x small pleco (dont know what type)
3 x apple snails

Have read about overstocking so ill see how I go when the other tanks up and running. Mind you wouldnt mind quite a few of what I see on here.

Also I would love live plants as most of what I have are plastic, with the token live one, I put a request on the buy sell or swap so hope ill be lucky.
