Just to say hello, I have been into fish on and off for the last 15 years. At the moment I have Discus,Angel fish, Red Rainbows,Red fin sharks, talking cat fish, clown loaches,Oscar. I have a 4ft tank. look forward to chatting. Dave

Welcome to TFF Dave,
are all those fish in the same tank?

Yes they are and it is such a lovely calm tank. The tank has been set up for nearly 2yrs all fish were put in at roughly the same time and I have had no problems with it.

First off Dave :hi: Just giving you the heads up, you dont need to hear it from me, but that seems like A LOT for one tank. See what others have to say. Welcome to the forums!

Why does it,because the fish are happy and have room to swim happily. All my water stats are were they should be I also do 3 25% water changes a week and never had any problems in the tank. Maybe I am lucky. Hope I am not going to get too slated for the choice of fish I have in my tank I am open to advice about my tank and came on this forum so as to increase my knowledge of fish-keeping but thanks for the heads up Dave.

tbh Dave your stocking is 100% fine, apart from the oscar,

In most cases an adult O will easily bully and kill discus and angels and when fully grown will have no trouble swallowing a red rainbow, so you can see why we I was a little suprised to see one with your other choice of fish

Oscar is fully grown we have had him for 2yrs alot of people who know about fish are surprised when I mention O but he is actually the most placid and peaceful fish in the tank. He has grown up with all these fish, he is about 12 inches and he got to this last year so I am sure if he was going to be any trouble to the other fish it would have happened by now!. I have an other tank which is about 3feet with hardly any stock at the moment so I can get a fish out quick if O ever gets to frisky which hopefully he won't but thanks for your advice Dave.

Whats in the smaller tank?

At the moment 3 swordtails, 1 mollie, 2 small angels, boeseman's rainbow and dwarf neon rainbow it was my daughters tank but I am now toying with the idea of setting it up as an african cichilid tank since I help set my uncles one up Dave.
