Hey all,

I have just got a jml profi 2 for my trigon 190l. The tank has recently cycled and has fish and plants in it. so heres my questions...

I have the normal green water so is it ok to run the co2 now, or is this a waste of co2?

Do you turn the unit off when you do water changes?

How do i test CO2? I have got a master test kit but there is no co2 test? Also what is a good Co2 level?

Any more tips, would be great!

Thanks, mike

I dont turn mine off when changing water.
You should have got a little CO2 permenant tester with it.
It sits in the tank and gives an indication of the level of CO2. Mine is blue for not enough, dark green is ok, light green too much.
You can also calculate it with you PH and KH or GH (cant remember which one)

If you have green water and are going to turn the tank lights off to get rid of it, id say it would be a waste having it on as the plants are in the dark and wont be able to make us of it, they will infact be producing CO2 themselfs.

hmmm what is normal green water? im not understanding.

Thanks for the tips so far.

I heard it was normal to have green water when you first set a tank up. Will leave the lights off and also do a water change to try and great rid of it.

Its not really normal. Its normally caused by an imbalance, probably due to aa new set up.
I had it on one and not the other.
My mates done a few tanks and never had it.
