Hello

ive been keeping fish for a short while, I have a well planted community tank. about a month ago i added 4 angel fish to the tank. anyway one after the other these fish died..suddenly without any sign of illness, until a few hours before death. non of the other fish in the tank seem affected by this..
I did a few water changes and left the tank...everything was ok..all the water chemisty was good..no amonia..no nitrite...little nitrates
so I got a bristlenosed catfish...it was fine..then..same as angel fish..after a week..dead..no signs nothing
I tested the water it was fine..changed it a few times and introduced 2 dwarf chiclids..
same again..1 week..fine..then just dead, no signs..

so now I need help...what can be causing this..some kinda infection?

Need to know tank size in gallons or litres, can we take a look at your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What the ph of the store to your tank, also how long are you climatising them for.
A new fish that hasn't been quarantined can fetch alot of deseases into a tank.

are the fish feeding? could it not also be some sort of internal bacterial infection

hi guys

my fish are all feeding fine..they look healthy

my tank size is 170L, amonia 0 nitite 0 nitrates 10 ph 7-7.5
like i say the tank is thriving, plants are growing fast and water seems good just dont understand why when i add new fish they are dying and why the other fish are ok that are already in there
Everything was fine until i added the angelfish, couldnt they have been carrying some thing?
the other fish in the tank are
3 flying fox
2 festive chiclids
2 rams
4 black widows tetra

Ive just noticed about an hour ago that one of the rams has a white..what can only be desribed as a zit, next to his eye, he still seems good and feeding?

The white zit is it fluffy looking, a circling of red around the edges or a red spot in the centre, also did the angel ever huddle together in a corner.

the spot is like a yellow spot just off the eye, not fluffy. looks like a zit..
the angels never huddled together much

I appreciate eveyone whos trying to help me..thanks

Yellow Grub
Similar to black spot it causes black or yellow spots in tropical fish.

Yellow Grub
DISEASE Caused by the larval stage of digenetic fluke parasites, such as Clinostomum, Posthodiplostomum and Dipplostomum.
SYMPTOMS Yellow color cysts develop on the body and fins. Small numbers cal do little harm but large numbers can harm small fish.
TREATMENT Very rarely necessary and is difficult if not impossible.
PREVENTION Avoid obviously infected fish and discourage fish-eating birds from visiting garden ponds to prevent the life cycle being completed.

And another one as never heard of yellow spots apart from this

Does the spot look like this

ok overnight the spot seems to have gone more white and looks a little bit fluffy, although its hard to tell as the fish is small and its in and outa the plants all the time

It's bacterial and you will need a bacterial med.

Don't know location uk, myxazin or anti internal bacterial med, and primafix.
United states maracyn one and two.

Ok, good luck.
