Hi could someone please tell me what fish I could add to my tank. Have 65L (no idea what that is in gallons all I know is it's not BIG enough !) Have plastic plants and a large piece of wood. I have 5 Cherry Barbs and 2 Rainbow Fish, ideally would like something with a bit of colour and as the others community friendly fish would like the same.
Also how long does it take approx for the browny coloured water to disappear because of the log. I am feeding flakes once a day in the evening should I be doing this twice a day ? Still very early days for me but surprisingly only lost 1 Barb :-(

Thanks for reading and any help would be much appreciated. Sugar

welcome aboard....
your tank is aproximately 18 us gallons.
firstly i`m guessing your tank is fairly new you should read up about cyceling if you havent done so already.
the trick to fish keeping is looking after your water if your water is good then your fish will be happy aqnd healthy. test your water first for ammonia nitrite, and nitrate.
the brown water may take a couple of months to go away it may go within weeks its depends on the wood and how often you change the water.

If i were you i`d add a couple more rainbows.
rule of thumb when it comes to stocking your tank is 1 inch of adult fish per us gallon of aquarium water. depending on the fish and you have aproximately 16 inch3es there

Yeah i would agree more rainbows. I dont know what species yours are but no matter what they will appreciate the company of the new rainbows as really they should be kept in shoals any way. As well as that they will feed better in a group and their colours will be much more emphasised and brighter than they when kept in pairs.
By the way if they are madagascan rainbows try to match the size as if you add new small specimens bullying often occurs.

Thanks for that BIGIAN, according to the test sticks waters fine (except being brown) shop said when I got the 2 Rainbow I shouldn't get any other big fish. Is the feeding once a day ok ? the rainbows would eat more if I fed them more but obv worried with over feeding, also would it help to do more water changes because of the water colour as I don't want to upset the balance I have at the min thanks again Sugar :)

Thanks Ben don't know what ones I have will be posting a pic they grow to approx 3/4 inches and are silver, blue and turquiose go faster stripes lol

Sound a lot like Melanotaenia lacustris to me. Your right they probably could do with more space but if they are still young and small you could keep another three or four with them an move them to larger accomodation when they grow as they are not particularly quick to mature.
