Hey everyone im new to taking care of fish. I just have a 20g I can say that its very addictive I dont know why ha. Having a fish tank tank and being able to have nature inside is pretty sweet. So any pointers you guy have would be awesome. Like the coolest fresh water fish to have or easiest way to keep you ph level balanced would be awesome thanks. Excited about the forum.

it IS addicting! Just don't cram too many in your tank, instead, cram your house with tanks!  So many fish are awesome it's hard to choose, you have choices in a 20, I just upgraded to a 55 from a 20, now 20 is turning into shrimpland.  Maybe I can get a tiny ferris wheel for the tank =p

That ferris looks cool. and welcome to forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Well just for starters i have three black moleys four guppys and four zebra danios. Is that too many for the tank. Im running a tetra 20 wisper filter pump.

did you upgrade to a 55 gallon the day after you posted your first post?  If so that's awesome!  After my first post, i bought 10 tanks in 90 days

Yeah i wish! I wouldnt mind going bigger! Hopefully soon. I dont think my wife would allow me to have that many!

You don't usually need to mess with your pH, most fish will adapt to it.

The mollies would be better off in a 30g (I'm not sure anymore if this depends on which molly or not..seems even the smallest ones get pretty chunky & are active)
The zebra danios would like to be kept in groups of 6+, and most would prefer seeing them in a 4ft tank. I know that sounds crazy with how small they are but they are extremely active so need the space!

So maybe your number of fish isn't bad, though I'm not 100% sure as I'm not the best with stocking numbers, but some of them would prefer something different.

The guppies are fine in this size tank, how many males & females do you have though?

Maybe find a fish your wife would really like and make that the centerpiece of a bigger tank?

I'm the same way with the man, I'm all I want I want and he's all...too many animals in this house already or it's gonna make the electric bill go up too much poo on him!
