Hi,

Well here's my story.

I've been a fish keeper my entire life so far, then my 40 gallon horizontal fish tank cracked one day while I wasn't home. It was.. quite literally Niagara Falls in my living room. Rugs and floor wrecked - therefore, I've been "banned" from having a tank that size again.

Now I have an unknown sized hexagon tank that was doing well up until now (my Sun Catfish was killed by a fish someone else put in it without telling me, and ever since then it's been dead). I plan on being active on this forum and would greatly appreciate any advice anyone would have!

My (deceased, unfortunately) Sun Catfish, I plan on getting another at some point - He was quite interesting, actually.

I mainly joined to educate myself about fish and the environment we're both forced to have - I despise my hexagonal fish tank, but it's all I can have.

However, I'll give some specs on myself. I live in New York, and around the forum you can simply call me Jay. It's nice to meet you all. :)

Hi Jay, What fish killed the sun cat? Sorry for your loss mate :rip:

The Sun Cat can reach 18" Mate. Minimum Tank Size for this Cat is 4'

They Will Predate on small fish, and usual diet is fish and other small life forms. Don't think this would have worked in your Hex anyway pal

I realize that, but I've planned on buying a bigger tank for him gradually because it'd give me time to learn about everything. Due to some family problems and events in my life (that weren't particularly pleasant, at that), I never really got around to it until now, unfortunately. The fish needed to be pushed off to the side for a bit, and he in there - if he had grown (he was still small), he would've undoubtedly prompted me to get a bigger tank, but my family issues and his small size (and ultimately his death) just caused everything to run away.

So that's the whole story.

My current plan?
To EVENTUALLY own a 55 gallon.
However, I'm eying a 40 gallon as of now, and until I have more space, it'll have to do.
