Fish Fanatic
I"ve been a fishkeeper for about 3 years with a 6 month break due to a move and I've enjoyed every minute of it. My first attempt was a few years ago with a 10 gallon and two goldfish (yes, I know they need more room than that but they were several years old coming from a pond and only 4 inches long so they fit nicely) I didn't know really anything about keeping fish so every month I'd take out all the ornaments and wash them in bleach water (carefully rincing them after) and getting rid of allt hat beneficial bacteria. Doing all sorts of things I shouldn't have done. Suprisingly they survived a year with me until I moved.
This time I started with a betta and some platties. Later got into Mollies and a polkadot loach. Did some MAJOR educating on my part and I feel so much more confident about it now.
I just got a 55gallon tank for Christmas. Planning for Mollies (dalmation, black, and white fantail) and my loach with 3 more friends for him once it's all cycled. With the help of my other tanks bacteria it shouldn't take too long. I used a filter and a small bag of lava rock from my other tank as well as two ornaments and some old tank water. My polkadot loach is fun to watch all by himself so I can't wait until I have four of them!
Great info on this site. There's some greatly educated people here and I look forward to learning and maybe offering some advise as well.

I added a pic on the picture forum. Don't know how to do it here.
