Newbie Guppy Breeder

Since I have never done breeding of fish before, I wanted to start with guppies since they are live-bearers. Well, I know there are several different types of guppies, but I was wondering if they matter when breeding. I mean, can I take a yellow one and breed it with a different species of female guppy or not?

Sorry I don't know all the technical names or anything for the species yet.

Guppies are probally one of the best fish to start breeding with. All you need is male or males of any color and tail shape and females of any color or tail shape.

If you want to really get into it then you could go for breeding particular types or colors. I breed guppies for a few stores and I only breed Delta tails that are black blue or yellow.
