Hi i'm new to fish keeping and this forum. have had the tank up and running for about 3 month now. I noticed last week one of my corys had this fury stuff on it. I took the pic to the LFS who said it was Fungus and they gave me Pimafix. I have put it in for 6 days so far but all its done is turn the water cloudy. any advice would be great, not sure what to do next.
currently
3 corys
6 platys
9 different tetras
No new fish added since end of november. 1 platy was found floating upside down for no reason.
i did buy the tank 2nd hand with filter, heater and lights all else is new.
my tank is a fluval 800 i think its about 120 litres

This is what I think is the best practice: quarantine the diseased fish (another container in the main tank; no connection between tank water and the container), and add the right dosage to the quarantine container. I'm not familiar with Pimafix, but you need to complete the recommended period and then do a water change (30-40%) after some time (usually a week). Such things can happen when the fish is under stress. Make sure your temp, pH, salinity, ammonia/nitrite/nitrate concentrations are in the safe ranges.
If you think the medicine is not working at all, ask for a 2nd opinion from another store.

Good luck.
(anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong).
