Hey i'm thinking of buying a plant to help the nitrate levels in my tank and be a bit of extra for the fish, and I was wondering if you could give me a quick guide on how to cope with a plant in my tank.

In my tank I currently have :

3 Black Widow Tetra
5 Neon Tetra

Chemicals :

7.8 pH
0.25 ppm mg/l Ammonia
0 ppm mg/l Nitrite
5.0 ppm mg/l Nitrate

you nitrate level is really low rigth now

so if that the only resonn for getting them i

wouldent, but if you do you 'll probly need

a plant gravel, ferts and Co2.

Only a significant amount of planting and growth will noticeably lower nitrates.

For some ideas on how to grow plants successfully read the pinned threads. Sufficient lighting is the most important aspect and something that few tanks are supplied with.
