i'm thinking of setting up my current 75g to a planted tank, but i'm in the research stages right now. I have a bit of time because im moving into a new house in about a week and I'm planning to get started sometime after that. First question: is it necessary to have a canopy on top to contain the lighting units? I currently do not have a canopy, but could make one - is it worth the trouble?
ps the current setup is an African Cichlid tank, so its gonna be a complete overhaul to a planted community tank.
