You're right, it is expensive. However, if you spend some time in the do it yourself (DIY) section, you should be able to find ways to make decorations without spending all of that money.
Despite the fact that this hobby costs so much, it is more than worth it once you get your tanks fully set up.

Add tanks information to your signature.
How to you add a permanent list of you fish to your posts.
1. Go to “My Controls” on the top right of the window.
2. Go to “My Signature” on the bottom left corner in the margin.
3. Type in the text that you wish to add. Add the Scientific name if known, commonly-used fish name, the names you have given to your fish, fish lengths, tank sizes, plants, and quotes.
