New Water

Hello, I will be setting up my new tank soon and I have a water butt round the side of the house...shall I fill it up with this water or should I just use the tap water???

not tap water

most people use RO water which you can buy from your fish store or you can get your own RO unit and make it yourself (cheaper in the long run)

i've heard stuff about using rain water before but I'm not sure, maybe it's possible to use it but I'm sure it would need to be filtered first

reverse osmosis, it's a method of filtering the water so it's up to the standard required by marine life
