Im new to this forum and need help, seems I keep loosing my bettas, males and females. The last 2 I found out were being over fed by my husband and step-son. So, now Im the only one who feeds them. I have a male now and he swells up off and on. I do not feed him alot. But give a variey of the pellets, dried bloodworms and maybe some flake food (not all at once). He is in a 10 gallon with other fish. He was fine yesturday but now worse. Poor guy just lays on his plant. I'm worried because I have had 5 and all have died. Now the freakin white worms have come back. I keep this TANK clean. I have never had this any problems. What can I do. I kkep loosing fish...

white worms? do you mean planaria? if so they are harmless. If the bloating is coming and going its probably constipation, try feeding a cooked mushed deshelled pea once a week

It sounds probable that you are feeding the tank too much food. Have one day a week when you do not feed at all and cut down on flake type foods as they are the biggest culprit for leftovers, which cause pollution and the planaria to appear large enough to see. Shelled pea is excellent for constipation and daphnia can help too.
As for losing so many of your bettas I have to ask, are you buying them from the same place each time? Some LFS's seem to carry a high mortality rate for their fish and should be avoided at all costs. Bringing home a betta from a place it was stressed and possibly diseased will compromise their immune system and shorten their life expectancy.

I've also heard it best to stay away from dried bloodworms as this can cause you betta problems, frozen ones are better just defrost a cube and plop it in

i use dried bloodworm maybe i should stop :S my female seems to love them though she always flairs at me and swims up and down the tank trying to get my attention until i give her some and i always find that a cude of frozen bloodworm is way to much food and end up wasting pretty much all of it :S

I personally don't recommend the pea thing because it killed my prized male (he choked, i don't think i mashed up the food fine enough, but i did mash it up) Let him fast for 2 days, that should help.
