Just made a few additions to my tank (300L) over weekend. > Added a shiny White tube of 30cm x 5cm and fixed to corner of tank and buried into gravel. Hopefully it will become a suitable spawning site for Angels to lay eggs on in the future.

Just wondering if any expert Angel breeders have any views on this tube - good idea...???

I've been using pvc pipe for angel spawning sites for years. If you plan on pulling the spawn make sure the pipe fits in your hatching tank. Also, pull it out once weekly and rinse the inside, tap water is fine. This removes any gunk that builds up, which you don't want in a hatching tank if you pull the spawn.

Thanks> I was thinking of a pvc pipe but saw this in a local Homestore shop for 99p and thought it would look pretty good with other decor.

:good:

Yep, they need a hard, vertical, clean surface to lay their eggs on> Either slate, Broad leaves, pipe or if none of these then the Filter or glass will be used.

I'd rather have a specific site for them, then can encourage them to spawn safely and easily remove the eggs if needed.
