We recently purchased a tropical tank and about 3 weeks we put our first fish in. And added a further few guppies and tetra's this week.

Firstly we have live plants and some of them seem to have turned very brown and started to decay. The plants are rooted in sand..

Also two days ago we found that our fish have had babies as there is seven baby fish swimming around and we dont know what is best to do for them.... Also we need to do a partial water change but want to avoid losing the little guys as they are very small....

we did prior reading to buying the fish but none of these were covered !!!

How certain are you that your plants are actualy aquatic? Many stores sell cheap plants that will only last a week or two because they arnt meant to be submerged in water. Try plantgeek.com and search there picture and plant archives and get to know your plants and youll soon learn which ones are not good for you and which ones are. :)

You need to do water changes to keep your fish healthy so just make sure you take extra care when you do! :)

neon/cardinal r my fravoit fish over all for community tank. As my cycled tank they r very healthy and happy. I love them > any other type of fish because of there beautiful scale on their back.

How many fish does the tank have and what types and how many gallons does the tank hold?
Do you know about ammonia, nitrates and nitrites and cycling tanks?
Does the tank have lighting, heater and a filter and do you have dechlorinator/water conditioner? What is the current tank temp?
