Hi guys I’m new to forum using and please don’t judge, basically I’ve got one male balloon molly and two females... and they keep having dry constantly, I already have a nursery tank upstairs with some babies in... and now the cycle has started again and the babies are having babies ‍♂️♂️♂️ Is there anything I can do, as today in my main tank my balloon mollie has literally given birth to 25 babies..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

No one will judge you, we are here to help, and all of us have inevitably gone through many of the same problems. Welcome to TFF. :hi:

All you can do is get rid of some of the fish, somehow. A female livebearer once impregnated can deliver several batches of fry roughly once a month for several months even without a male present. So you could end up with hundreds and hundreds in time. Keeping males only is the only way to solve this. Some of the fry will get eaten, but usually not all of them.

At this stage, if you can find someone to take the fry and the larger females...maybe a store, or a local aquarist? Stores may not be too keen though as livebearers reproduce so frequently they tend not to be wanted.

Hello and welcome, I had the same problem with African Chilids years ago, I rescued 8 of them and before I knew it I had over 50 in a 55 gallon tank. I took everything out but the gravel to take away hiding places and to discourage breeding. I gave away as many as I could. The LFS took some. It took awhile to get it back under control.

Try to give them away to a store or something. Do not remove the fry when they are born, someone them will be eaten, and while this may be hard to watch for some, it is just the circle of life. You could separate the males from females on separate tanks to help combat this problem. The females will still drop fry for a few months, But after that they should stop
