Hello Everyone,

I happy that I found this site. I'm 42 and when I was about 15 I had 6 tanks of various sizes in my bedroom. I used to breed Bettas along with most live bearers. I had a breeding pair of Oscars at one time also. I got rid of all my tanks a couple of years later.

I recently purchased a used 55gl to introduce my daughter (and reintroduce myself) to this wonderful hobby. I am surprised by how much advancement has been made in filtration and other controlling other "biological" factors.

I'm not sure yet on what kind of fish I'm going to put in there yet. This weekend the tank is going through a thorough cleaning and test and make sure all the "stuff" works.

Anyway I'm just saying Hi and I'm sure that I'll need some updating an how to maintain a clean healthy tank.

Looking forward to this experience.

Thanks

Hey PT,
Thanks!!! As I get things set up I'm sure I'll have plenty!

hello, welcome to the forums. :) if you want any help starting up, there's some useful pinned topics int he beginners' seciton, although you probably know msot of that already. feel free to ask quesitons. :)

Thanks to you all for making me feel welcome to this site. I set The tank up today and am letting it run while I make up my mind on what fish to put in it. We'll most likely start with community and livebearers. That's my daughter's preference.

I know where to go to if I have questions.

Agains again and I'll keep you "posted".
