Hey guys

Well basicly iv been thinking abou this for a long time now and i realy want a small tropical aquarium set up in my room. Iv had cold water fish before but unfortunetly thery were pisoned by a brguler :(. Anyway i want to set up my own tropical tank.
Iv got a Juwel Rekord 60, which is a 55 litre tropical tank. i will however be changing the filtration system on it as i feel its not good enough.

Right now im off to get some supplies tomorow and im going to get some declorenator and some gravel or sand.. havent decided yet.. after this i will leave the fish tank to settle for a few days before introducing a couple of fih to get it started for the first month or so.

What is a god fish to introduce toestablish the tank and any other tips you can give me for a complete begginer...

thank you so much.

look foward to hearing from you all

You will have to cycle your tank. Read up on that, if you don't, most fish will die. Don't go for all of the bacteria hoaxes at your LFS. The bacteria is dead. Some hardy fishe for that size tank would be mabye some Danios, but you should really cycle it so you can add better fish.

yer definitly will cycle my tank just started reading about it

If you're in the UK, Maidenhead Aquatics sell a product called 'Bactinettes' and this stuff actually works - it's a fiver for enough bacteria for up to 100l.

I was mid-cycle in a tank (ammonia being processed, but nitrites not) then put some of this in the filter - hey presto! tank cycled. Added ammonia for a couple of days to make sure, definitely works!
