I just took up freshwater aquariums as a hobby and want to see what everyone had to say. I have a 33 long tank with 3 spoted cory, 1 tiger oscer, 2 jellybean parrots, 1 blue ahli cichlid, 1 dragon goby, 1 pelco, 1 borneo loach, 1 bumble bee goby.

is this to many fish for my tank, the biggest fish is the blue ahli at 3 to 4 inches

I use a Aqua-tech advanced bio filter for a 30 to 60 gallon tank, a 30 to 50 gallon heater, 1 24'' air stone

thanks,
kyle

Yes you are over stocked and the oscar will get huge fast and needs a minimum tank size of 55 gallons. Bllod parrots will also need a 55 gallon, the cichlid needs different requirements and wil be very aggresive, and the goby is brackish. Is your tank cycled?

yes it is cycled i have had it up for over a month to 2 months

Hi,

The tank is definately overstocked.

Your first priority would be to re-home the oscar if you cant get a bigger tank.

Oscars actually need minimum of 75 US gallons WITHOUT any other tankmates, if you wish to have tankmates with an oscar then it needs to be an even bigger tank. Oscars also need double filtration as they create a lot of waste. Oscars normally reach 12-14" and as it grows will eat any fish it can fit in its mouth.

What sort of plec is it?

Andy

Oh my. What a disaster!

What did you do to cycle the tank? Have you tested your amonia and nitrates?

I agree with previous comments. You need to rehome most of these fish, including the gobies who will not survive for long in fresh water.
