We got some money for X-mas, so we decided to buy another tank. We've had 4 other tanks through out the years. Anyway, the tank is 29 gals. we bought 4 guppies, and two Placostymus (?), and all the goddies for the tank. Well about a week later we bought 4 more guppies and 6 ghost shrimp. By this time the tank has been up & running 3 weeks, I noticed little spots swimming in the grass, yeah!! babies. Then the parents started dying, out of 8 adults, only one female survived. She was very fat when we got her, two days after getting her she had 6 babies. Now, today 2-22-05, she had 8 more.
Getting back to the questions I have;
What is breeding age for guppies?
How long do they live?
Do Placostymus give live birth?
How do you tell gender?
Thank you for everyone's time.

Welcome to the forums!

Guppies will breed, IDK what age though :p

Guppies live about 2 years :)

Plecos do not give live birth :)

There are many species of plecos, only a few can be sexed easily, and we don't know what kind of pleco you have ;)

Welcome to the forum :)

Don't know to much about guppies though.
