Hi All,
New to this site, i've had Tanks before, but setting up again after a long break. I've bought a second hand 72 Litre Tropiquarium 68, I must say now that i am impatient ( sorry in advance ). After setting up my tank, planting up etc i was itching to get fish,I lasted about a week, Guppies being one of my favourite i started with these, adding Platys and Mollies. My Local Fish shop belongs to an old family friend so i get good advice off them when there, but joining this site, help and advice is on hand more readily ( hopefully),
I hope you'll give any advice you can to me and look forward to chatting to you soon...

Oh and :hi:

Thanks for that blubble... i'm now going to take a good look at the thread, many thanks for replying xx

no worries.

That thread is so important as i learened the hard way about cycling :(

Good morning and welcome! :good: You will be doing a fish in cycle. The guppies probably won't make it. If you can get some mature filter media from your lfs, that would help alot.

Hi all thanks for the welcome....
some good and bad new....... ive had my first fatality today... a Bumble Bee Platy...rip....
i had a Ruby Platy with a white patch developing on his Tail.. with advice from my local Fisheries i treated this by turning up the temprature up for 24 Hours, and im treating the tank with Protozin following the directions.... im now on day two of this... the Bumble Bee was acting strange, almost like a 'fit' today and just lost balance and died !!!
The good news is my friends popped round tonight and did a water test for me the results were as follows.

PH LEVEL ...... 7.6

AMMONIA LEVEL .. 0

NITRITE LEVEL .. 1

NITRATE LEVEL .. 4

I Believe these are within the limits... any feed ack would be much appreciated....
i just want to add im in a hard water area and i was given some mature filter matter to start my tank off.
Looking forward to your responses.
