If you just want to try your hand at a few plants the list below are as good to start with, but if you fancy going into it a little more have a read of some of the pinned articles, and some of the journals in the planted section, they will give you a step by step guild of sorts on how to set one up and give you an idea on what sort of problems you are likely to come across and how to sort them.
What sort of substrate do you have?
Amazon swords need a substrate rich in nutrients especial iron, you will probably need to push a couple of root tabs under your swords periodicly to keep the tip top.
Here's a few low light plants you could use, java moss, java fern, vallis, hygrophilia polysperma, Anubias (various types), Cryptocoryne (of various types).
Try Salvinia a floating plant, good for low light, and superb for betta tanks, i use to have some wood with java moss in my betta tank with some Salvinia floating on top, simple but nice.
