Afternoon all,
Just thought I would say hello as I’m sure I will be posting plenty of questions in the coming months.
I have just upgraded from a 200l tropical set up to a 450l malawi set up.
Currently got it set up and running with a Coral sand base and a heap of ocean rock.
Im currently running 2x external filters (Fluval 305 and 405). Is this enough filtration for an over stocked Malawi set up?
Reading the "Mbhuna basics” thread i wish i had looked sooner!
My friend gave me some babies to help cycle the tank in before i put my main stock of fish in. But all of them are on the list of "shouldn’t be sold ever these are evil killing machines!"
Melanochromis auratus, Melanochromis chipokae and Metriaclima lombardoi.
He has no issues but he has a very over stocked tank, so I’m guessing with the huge mass of large fish in there he seems to get away with it.
Just how much pain am i in for with these fish? They are obviously fine at the moment, but they are only 2 inches long!
Cheers
Lew
