New To Fish?...feeding?

ok people, so im new to keepin fish and have heard various stories about how often to feed the fish!

some say 2 - 3 times a day n others say once every other day?

im confused. can anyone help me?

I feed mine every other day.
That way wasted food cant help to create amonia

I feed my fish once a day but other people may feed more. I suppose it all depends on what type of fish people have.

thanx guys...so what else can i do so as not to create too much amonia?

As i learnt when i joined the forum, dont add to many fish to quick, regular water changes, and when it comes to cleaning filter media use water from your tank and dont clean it to thorougly.
There are probably a lot more that the more experienced keepers will tell you
